PATRICIA ANN ARVAI OBITUARY
Patricia Ann Arvai, 87, passed away peacefully in her home on September 18, 2024 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Married to her high school sweetheart, John Joseph Arvai, for nearly 52 years, Patricia had looked forward to reuniting with him in heaven since his death in 2009.
Patricia cherished her family and showered them with love and attention. She is survived by her children Jay (Maureen) Arvai, Jeff (Mary) Arvai and Kelly (Mark) Vento; her grandchildren Kevin (Genessis) Arvai, Scott (Anna) Arvai, Shannon Arvai, Chris (Becca) Holmes, Lauren (Cody) Johnson, Alexandra Arvai, Tommy Vento, Jake (Alexandria) Vento and Ben Vento; and her great-grandchildren Jay, Mia, Ava, Olivia, Emma, Kinley, Montana and a baby boy due in November.
With a life centered on her husband, family, friends and strong Catholic faith, Pat valued human relationships over money, travel or success. The depth and breadth of the people grieving her is testament to that fact and include neighbors, cousins, former co-workers, high school friends and the staff members at her doctors’ offices and pharmacy, among many others.
Patricia Ann Zolnierzak was born on June 17, 1937 to Chester and Violet Zolnierzak in Braddock, Pennsylvania. She is pre-deceased by them and her brother Dennis Zolnierzak. In Braddock, Patricia attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and graduated as Valedictorian from North Huntingdon High School in 1955. She worked at West Penn Power Company in Greensburg, PA and married John in 1957. The young family moved to the metro Washington D.C. area and eventually settled in Dale City, Virginia where they raised their family. In 2004, Pat and John retired to Falls Run in Fredericksburg, Virginia where they enjoyed the company of great neighbors and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on September 25 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Private interment services will follow. In lieu of flowers, consider donating in Patricia’s memory to the Fredericksburg SPCA at https://fredspca.org.
