Marlena Sue Davidson passed away peacefully in the home of her beloved stepdaughter, Teresa Kay Dabney in Fredericksburg, Virginia on December 4, 2023, age 75.
Marlena Sue was born in Coshocton, Ohio on October 18, 1948 to the late Donald Walter and Ollie Mae (Adkins) Brown. She grew up in North Carolina moving to Northern Virginia after her marriage to James Batton in 1965. After her divorce, she returned to North Carolina to live near her parents in Charlotte for several years before returning to Virginia.
Marlena Sue had an enormous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, James Richard Batton, son Dwayne Roger Batton and stepson, Charles Edward Batton.
Survivors include her stepchildren, Teresa Kay Dabney; Ronald Lee Batton; Wayne Richard Batton; George William Batton; Noyne Batton; granddaughters, Ashley Sue Batton; and Brittany Nicole Batton of Fredericksburg, VA; great-grandchildren Kendra Marie Batton, McCutcheon and Enzo Blaze Batton, Spears of Fredericksburg, VA.
Marlena Sue is survived by two sisters, Jo Ann (William, deceased) Childress of Bryon, GA and Vickie (Jeff) Meyer-Manz of Bonita Springs, FL.
Marlena Sue’s ashes will be scattered in a private family service.
