Ian Bradley Edward Warren Reeves an Army veteran aged 34 passed away at his home in Fredericksburg, VA on Wednesday, 12 June 2024. Ian was born in Eschenbach, Germany on Oct 31, 1989, the only child of Elaine Reeves (Roots) and Bradley Reeves. Throughout his life, Ian lived in many different countries - Germany, Saudi Arabia, a short time in England, Germany (again) and then Okinawa where he graduated Kadena High School in 2007. Ian remained on the island, first working various positions at Banyan Tree golf course, then with the University of Maryland. During his time working for UMUC, he deployed to Afghanistan for a year as an Enrollment Specialist. Upon returning from Afghanistan, Ian decided to enlist with the Army in 2014 as a Paralegal Specialist. His first enlistment took him back to the land of his birth, Germany, where he was stationed at Kaiserslautern. He worked in the civil law section, followed by more than a year on the Army Defense Team, before he reenlisted for four more years and left Germany for Airborne School. After graduating Airborne school, Ian went to join 3rd Group, Special Operations in Fort Bragg, NC. It was while Ian was stationed at Fort Bragg that he met his wife Jennifer Brown and they married in April 2018. Ian and Jennifer remained in Fayetteville, NC until he separated from the Army in March 2021 at which point Ian went to work for the Veterans Administration, Office of the Chief Counsel for Personnel actions, in Washington, D.C. Ian was still working at the VA at the time of his death. As a young child, and then teenager, Ian was an avid golfer and would spend all day every day on the golf course, if allowed. He was Co-Captain of the Kadena High School golf team in his senior year. He had a passion for cars and was always working on some car project getting it ready to take to the track to drift. Before he went to Afghanistan with UMUC, Ian could occasionally be found working behind the bar on Sunabe seawall in Okinawa where he was known for his mixology skills, great one-liners and wit. Ian is survived by his wife Jennifer Brown, fur babies Louie and Hank and parents Elaine and Brad Reeves.
