Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service
Gary Linwood Pritchett, 71, of Fredericksburg VA passed away on November 27th, 2022. “Bear” was born February 11, 1951, in Washington DC to the late Norma Nadine and Jesse Lynwood Pritchett.
Bear had a kind soul and knew how to put a smile on everyone’s face. His passions in life included playing music, drag racing, and his son Gary. In his early adult life, Bear played in two bands in the 60s and 70s. He had a race team called “Mess a Blues” with his brother Jerry and friends. He spent over 35 years racing as part of the “Bunny & The Boys” funny car team with Mo & Carolyn “Bunny” Burkett.
He is survived by his son, Gary Aaron Pritchett, brother, Jerry Lynn Pritchett (Mary Ann), sister Carolyn Pritchett Knott (Timothy Knott), and half-sister, Stephanie Pritchett-Minor. As well as many nephews and nieces. He is preceded in death by his younger brother, Douglas Edward Pritchett.
Bear touched a lot of people over his 71 years on this earth and those who were lucky enough to know him to have amazing stories of the time spent together. He is an irreplaceable force who has left a massive hole in our hearts, and we will miss him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to join us for a celebration of life on Sunday, December 4th, 2022 from 1 pm – 4 pm at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service in Fredericksburg, VA.
