IN THE CARE OF
Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service
Ezell Stewart III, 63, peacefully passed away in his home on Friday, November 17, 2023 in Ruther Glen, Virginia, after a 3-year battle with prostate cancer. Ezell was born on February 9, 1960 in Jasper, Alabama, but spent most of his young years growing up in Arlington, VA.
He was a very caring man of many gifts and talents. He played all kinds of sports in his early life, but basketball became a big passion, and he even went on to become a McDonald’s All-American. Ezell also took great pride in gardening, cooking, and music. Taking care of his family & home brought him true joy. He seemed to be filled with countless amounts of knowledge and was always willing to share it with those around him. His selflessness was one of his most defining traits, and it will continue to shine through those he touched.
Ezell was preceded in death by his father, Ezell Stewart Jr. He is survived by his wife, Christine Stewart; one daughter, Jazell Stewart; three sons, Ezell Stewart IV, Jaleel Johnson, Christon Johnson; his sister, Wanda Stewart; his mother, Shirley Stewart; one grandchild, two nephews, and many cousins.
A visitation for Ezell will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Hwy, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401, followed by a celebration of life from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
