DA was born in Alexandria, VA, to the late James and Florence Linton Beavers. He grew up in the Mt. Vernon area and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School in 1963. After high school he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was assigned to the U.S. Army Support Command, Saigon, Vietnam.
He was honorably discharged from the Army on May 2, 1968, and returned home to work for the Department of Army, Cameron Station Commissary. He later transferred to Fort Belvoir VA, where he worked in the Motor Pool prior to his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Richard Beavers. He is survived by his wife, Janice Marlene Beavers, and a sister, Sallyanne Beavers DeShong.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends on special occasions and he and his wife hosted Thanksgiving Day dinners. He loved the outdoors, hunting, raising animals, and gardening. His favorite TV shows were westerns and he loved country and western music. In his retirement years he spent time caring for his cows in Locust Grove. He had a special bond with his cows and could call them by name when he wanted to feed them by hand.
He was a loving and caring man who will be missed by all.
