He was an ordained deacon at Crossroads Baptist Church in Leesburg, Virginia and he was a member of the Herndon Moose Lodge.
Clarence enjoyed many things in life such as fishing, hunting, making pins, any kind of wood crafting, sitting on his patio, and riding around on his side-by-side.
He was laid back and easy going but was also known by all as a jokester. He greatly loved his family, friends, and Chihuahua, Frankie.
Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Thomas Sutphin and Kathleen Gertrude Sutphin; son, Michael “Stevie” Stephen Sutphin; and sisters,Shirley Davis and Darlene Neff.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jean Sutphin; son, Douglas Lee Sutphin; daughters, Debbie Jean Hare, Sharon Mae Frye (James Bob Frye), Sherry Kathleen Robinson (Allen Phillip Robinson); step-son, Gary Hollis; sister, Irene Hensley; 17 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and many many many great great grandchildren.
The visitation for Clarence will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, 1621 Emancipation Highway, Fredericksburg, Virginia 22401.
