Obituary of Charles Ralph Beamon II
Dr. Charles Ralph Beamon, II, 82, of Fredericksburg, peacefully departed this life at Harmony of Falls Run on November 22, 2023. A celebration of his life will take place on January 12 at 4 PM. He is fondly remembered by his devoted wife, Gale; his son, Charles Ralph Beamon, III, and daughter-in-law Tamara Hochman Beamon; his daughter, C. Elise Beamon Mackey, and son-in-law William Ord Mackey; brother, Robert Beamon; and cherished grandchildren: Alexander Charles Beamon, Allison Emily Beamon, and William Colton Mackey. Ralph was born in Norfolk, Virginia on March 11, 1941. He attended college at Johns Hopkins University and medical school at University of Maryland where he graduated second in his class. He then began residency at New York Hospital before serving in the US Navy as a Lieutenant Commander where he was stationed in Taiwan during the Vietnam war. He completed residency after his tour of service at University of Virginia in Urology. He moved to Fredericksburg Virginia and began private practice in Urology and was one of the founding partners of Urology Associates of Fredericksburg. He served on many boards and civic groups in the community including the Fredericksburg Rotary Club, Virginia Reel, and Chief of Surgery at Mary Washington Hospital. He was married to his bride, Gale, for over 59 years. Known for his unwavering dedication to his patients, Dr. Beamon’s tireless work reflected his commitment to the well-being of others. Beyond his medical profession, he found joy in various activities that enriched his life. In addition to his thriving medical career, Dr. Beamon had a passion for fishing, hunting, skiing and travel, which brought him immense happiness. These interests added a vibrant dimension to his life outside the clinic. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Catherine Beamon, and brother, George Beamon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests making memorials in his honor to Ducks Unlimited or Wounded Warriors, causes close to his heart.
