Carolyn Anne Spindle

Carolyn“Nanny” Spindle, 75 of Stafford passed away at her residence on Thursday, May 12, 2022. Carolyn was an avid lover of dogs, especially her Yorkies, and loved searching for antique furniture. In the 80’s, she had a part time job working at a flower shop and continued to love making arrangements with real or dried flowers. She spent many years teaching Starfires dance teams. She loved music and creating routines for her students to perform. She was fiercely loyal to her family and enjoyed hosting family gatherings for the holidays. She loved being a grandmother to her six boys and bragged about them to everyone.

She is survived by her son Troy Spindle and his wife, Jennifer; her niece Kim Sullivan and husband Jeff; six grandsons, Cody Whitby and wife,Elizabeth, Tory Spindle and wife, Marzena, Clay Whitby, Trey Spindle and wife, Erin, Tyler Sullivan and wife, Katelyn, and Hunter Sullivan; and two great grandsons, Wyatt Whitby and Truman Spindle and one great granddaughter, Waverly Whitby. .

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton “Bub” Spindle; daughter, Wendi Whitby; parents Richard and Helen Suttle and sister, Judith Kennedy.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel at 11:00 am, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to your local SPCA.
