Carolyn Johnson Marks

Carolyn J. Marks, 74, of Fredericksburg passed away Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Mary Washington Hospital. Carolyn was born in Washington, DC on August 10, 1936 to James and Helen Kimble Curry. Prior to her retirement she was an Administrative Officer with Naval Research. Carolyn is survived by her loving husband, Richard Powell Marks Jr.; daughter, Theresa Lynn Marks of Fredericksburg; three sons, Richard P. Marks III and wife Deborah of Maryland, James Ashton Marks and wife Marylou also of Maryland and Charles Chilton Marks and wife Jean of Appomattox, VA.; a sister, Sandra C. Perry of Florida, as well as four grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday, March 25 from 6-8pm with a rosary at 7pm and Saturday, March 26 from 2-4pm at Mullins & Thompson, Fredericksburg Chapel. A mass of Christian burial will be offered at 11 am on Monday, March 28 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers the family asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Carolyns’ name to the American Diabetes Association 1701 North Beauregard St. Alexandria, Va. 22311.
