Byron was born on April 25, 1977 in Washington, DC to parents Anthony Chisley and Joanne (Balthrop) Monroe. Byron grew up in Maryland until as an adult he relocated to Virginia. He worked for Coca-Cola Consolidated Bottling Company and did audio production work for University of Mary Washington. Additionally, Byron worked as a restaurant Supervising Manager for various restaurants in the surrounding area of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Byron decided to pursue his passion of becoming a barber; he worked for Quality Cuts up until his unexpected death.
Byron’s most significant passion was for music. He found this passion when he and his grandfather would bond over listening to different types of music. As Byron grew older, he began creating beats and sounds for the Backyard Band, he also played the keyboard and the congo drums. “GoGo” music played such a major role in his life he wanted to name his child “Music”. Outside of music, “B” loved football; his favorite football team was the Washington Redskins. Nothing was more important to him than his children. Byron had a special relationship with each one of his kids. Byron was extremely kind-hearted person and treated his friends as if they were family.
His grandfather James Penny preceded Byron in death.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his grandmother Delores Penny, his fiancé Shantell Beverly, (4) children Zion, Zorianna, Xzavion, Adrian (1) stepdaughter Makenzie Roh. (1) Brother Virgil Monroe Jr. (3) Uncles Gary and Mark Balthrop and Rodney Penny. Father in laws Brian Cooper (Deborah); Timothy McDowney (Ginny). (2) sister in laws Samantha Beverly and Keishawn Holton. (2) God children, and a devoted friend Rasheem Robinson and a host of nieces and nephews
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
