Bobby Scott Vaughan Sr.

Bobby Scott Vaughan, Sr., 80, of Stafford, passed away peacefully, with his son by his side, on Thursday, July 9th, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital from complications of a stroke.
He is survived by one daughter, Sheila E. Vaughan; his son Bobby S. Vaughan, Jr. (and wife Nancy) of Bumpass; one sister Margie Bardon of VA Beach; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his mother, Norene Murrell Vaughan, and his wife of 53 years, Julia Genevieve Vaughan.
He was a lifelong member of Salem United Methodist Church in Widewater, Virginia. He was a veteran of the US Army and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and Sharpshooter (rifle) medal. In 1962, he began work in civil service at Quantico Marine Corps Base. He retired from civil service in 1991 as the foreman of the carpenter shop USMC, Quantico.
The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the love, care and support of the staff at Westport Healthcare Center and both the 6th Floor Neuroscience and 2nd floor nursing staff at St. Mary’s Hospital.
The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Friday, July 17th at Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg; where funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
