Ryan J. Taylor, age 51, of Lebanon, Ohio, sadly passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, after a brief and courageous battle at Christ Hospital. Ryan was born July 2, 1972, in Muncie, Indiana, to Charles and Marilyn (Green) Taylor.
Ryan has been in the paver business for the most part of his adult life. He, along with Kevin Piers and Jeff Meurer, partnered together to purchase Decorative Paving Company in 2006. Ryan played an integral part in growing the company into a successful, flourishing business providing meaningful and lucrative employment to over 100 employees and their families in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. Ryan has been a long-standing voting contractor member of the ICPI Construction Committee and chaired the CMHA Hardscape Construction subcommittee during the unification process between ICPI and NCMA. Ryan contributed significantly to the committee activities and helped guide the direction of the industry for fellow contractors. Ryan was also a strong supporter of Hardscape North America and played a significant role in the HNA Installer Championship as both contractor and judge. His thoughtful contributions and easy-going dedication will be missed throughout the industry.
Beyond his professional career, Ryan enjoyed traveling the Caribbean with his family, while spending every warm weekend on his beloved Crownline boat at Shanghai Resort on Norris Lake where he and Malia enjoyed their second home with their lake family, just around the corner from their storage facility business in LaFollette, TN.
Ryan is survived by his wife and soulmate, Malia (Loy) Taylor; his son, Wesley Rhodus; his parents, Charles and Marilyn Taylor; his step-mother Pat Taylor; his brother, Heath Taylor; his step-sisters, Autumn Barefoot (Tommy Allen) and Cresta Hancock; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mike and LuAnn Loy; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Keenan (Kelly) McKee, Chris (Amanda) Jimenez, Todd (Crystal) Appledorn, Scott (Amber) Lensch; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and Rottweiler, Zoe Taylor.
A visitation for Ryan will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 40 N Main St, Springboro, OH 45066, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM. A celebration at Ryan and Malia’s home at 1214 E. Lower Springboro Rd, Lebanon, Ohio 45036 after services is welcome to all.
