Ronald Lee Johnson, aged 88, passed away on July 12, 2024, in Middletown, Ohio, where he was born on January 27, 1936. Ronald's life was marked by his profound love for his family and his passions that spanned the arts and innovation.
He graduated from Franklin High School. He Served in the National Guards as a Master Sergeant from 1959 to 1961 bringing the discipline and skills learned there into his civilian life.
Ronald dedicated many years to the Armco Steel Company as a Crane Operator and an Instrument RepairMan before retiring, a role that highlighted his attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Beyond his professional life, Ronald was a true artist at heart. His hobbies included thri fting, antiquing, drawing, woodworking, painting, and inventing—each an avenue where he expressed his creativity..
Ronald was a cherished husband to his wife of 66 years, Roberta "Bobby" Johnson. He was a loving father to Ron Johnson and Robin (John) Phares, and a grandfather to grandsons Ronnie (Elicia) Johnson and Christopher (Cassie) Phares. His great-granddaughter, Scout Lee Phares, held a very special place in his heart. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Bernia and Matthew Johnson, and several brothers and sisters.
The Anderson Funeral Home in Franklin, Ohio, is assisting the family during this time. Ronald will be remembered as a devoted family man, a creative spirit, and a proud veteran, whose contributions to his community and country will not be forgotten.
