Melvin Ira Jones

Melvin graduated in 1949 from Trotwood Madison High School. After high school Melvin served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After being honorably discharged he worked for Monsanto and Diamond International until around 1985. Mr. Jones was a member of the Masons and Eastern Star, Carlisle Lions Club, and the Carlisle Community Church formerly known as the New Jersey Presbyterian Church.

Along with his parents, Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 63 years, Phyllis Jones in 2015; sister, Marjorie Post; and brother, John Jones.

He is survived by his daughters, Michele (Hayes) Johnston, Tamara (Kert) Radel, and Angela Lewis; grandchildren, Patrick (Alyssa) Gunstream, Elisabeth Johnston, Matthew (Paige) Radel, Andrew (Carolyn) Radel, Kyle Lewis and Molly Lewis; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Willoughby; and brother, Jeff (Yoshie) Jones.

Visitation will be on Wednesday January 5, 2022 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. Second Street, Franklin, Ohio 45005. Funeral service will take place on Thursday January, 6 2022 at 11:00 am with Nancy Dumford officiating. Burial will take place at New Jersey Presbyterian Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Carlisle Community Church in Melvin’s honor.
