Leroy Butler

Butler, Lee Roy (Leroy) Benton, 82 of Franklin, Ohio followed Jesus and entered his eternal reward on Saturday December 26, 2020 in the warmth of his bed next to his loving wife. He was born June 25, 1938 in Newport, Kentucky.

“Leroy”, an avid sports fan followed the Cincinnati Bengals and Kentucky Wildcat Basketball, enjoyed spending time with his huge loving family at Myrtle Beach and his large family pool. He loved getting out on the road with his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Always the life of the party, Leroy never met a stranger and made people feel like family. A devout follower of Jesus, Leroy loved our Lord with his whole heart.

He is preceded in death by his father, Burl William Martin Butler and mother, Eva Lena (Walling) Butler, brothers, Bill Butler, Harold Butler, Dale Butler. Sisters, Lilly May Butler, Shirley (Butler) Henderson; and one great-grandson Levi Morgan Butler.

He is survived by his cherished wife of 54 years, Sherry (Pirman) Butler, of Franklin, Ohio, children, Ricky (Kristen) Butler of Carlisle; Penny (David) Reeves, of Lafayette, Georgia; Lee (Christy) Butler, Jr., of Carlisle, Tanya (Greg) Simpson, Middletown; Serena (David) Staton, of Franklin; and Elizabeth (Rob) Rayburg, of Gordon. Siblings, James Butler, Jean Campbell, Linda Lyons, Pam Bogie. 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces, and his constant companion his black lab Noel, all of which were the apple of his eye.

Arrangements are being handled by Breitenbach Anderson Funeral Home 517 S. Sutphin St. Middletown, Ohio with Pastor David Reeves conducting the service. Visitation will be Monday 11am to 1pm. with service starting at 1pm. Burial will be at Union Township Cemetery in South Lebanon, OH
