Alan was born on November 27, 1953 in Davenport, Iowa. Teaching was his passion, and he put his heart into his work. He taught in the Edgewood City schools and retired in September of 2013 after 35 years. Alan enjoyed travelling out West with friends and to Europe to visit family. He loved listening to music and enjoying the outdoors, especially hiking and fishing. His parents, Mary Alice and Robert Freeman, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Liliane, two daughters Elodie and Julie, and canine companion Günther; sisters Karen Roger Martin, Jan Mark Schirmer; brothers Mike Gloria Freeman, Patrick Theresa Freeman; brother-in law Luigi Patricia Fusciardi; also nieces and nephews.
