John Vance McKinney, age 83, of Miamisburg, OH; died Wednesday September 4, 2019 at Kingston of Miamisburg. John was born in Crandon, WI on November 22, 1935 to the late John N. and Mattie Mae (Mullins) McKinney.
He served 35 years in the US Army and was discharged as a Command Sergeant Major. John was employed for many years with Chrysler Air Temp as a plant manager and also was employed with General Motors Delco and Delphi Divisions.
John was preceded in death by 2 brothers Bill and Beckum McKinney; and his step mother Gaynell McKinney.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carol (Hunter) McKinney; children, Lance (Nancy) McKinney, Lee (Dana) McKinney, Tammy (Pauly) Sinclair, and Holly (Bryan) Lyons; 9 grandchildren, Joshua, Ashley, Zachary, Seth, Autumn, Adam, Hunter, Noah, and Chase; 1 great grandchild Addyson and one on the way; brothers and sisters, Wanda (Ralph) Slone, Ron (Sissy) McKinney, Laura Esther Bishop, Joy (Leroy) Blackford, Charlie (Judy) McKinney, David (Becky) McKinney, and Jessie (Larry) Gay Fleeman.
Funeral services are 10am Monday September 9, 2019 at the Anderson Funeral Home 40 N. Main St Springboro, OH with John Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5pm at the funeral home.
