Jean Stanley

Norma Jean Stanley, age 92, of Springboro, Ohio, entered eternal rest with God, on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. She passed at home with her loving family by her side. Jean graduated from Otterbein College with a bachelor’s degree in education and earned her master’s degree in education from Xavier University in guidance and counseling. She served as an elementary education teacher for 36 years at Miamisburg City Schools, teaching kindergarten for 25 of those years and loving every minute of it! Jean loved gardening, her Springboro home, traveling, Hocking Hills, Miamisburg Schools, and above all, her family and dear friends. Jean served as the Youth Fellowship Leader at Springboro First United Methodist Church where she treasured those children and that time in her life. She was a woman of deep faith and great strength. She had an adventurous spirit and traveled the world ,yet loved to return home to the family she adored! She was an avid learner throughout her life and encouraged those around her to seek higher knowledge. In retirement, she filled her time giving back to her family, friends, and helping her grandchildren blossom. When she was not traveling, she could be found enjoying the flowers in her garden or babysitting her friends' young children for fun!

Jean was born in Logan, Ohio on July 14, 1931, to Gilbert and Hazel (Windle) Leffler. She was a devoted older sister to Richard Leffler and James (Marilyn) Leffler; a loving mother to Victoria (Jake) Thomas, Pamela Huey, and Stephanie (Terry) Roeder; an adoring grandmother to Leah (Chad) Winstead, Heather Warren, Ted (Sarah) Huey, Tyler Huey, Dominic Roeder, Giovanna Roeder, and Nicolianna Roeder; and great grandmother to Ryan Winstead, Micah Huey, Remington Huey, Jameson Huey, and Jackson Huey.

Jean loved being a teacher, mother, and grandmother. She will be forever loved and forever missed.

A visitation for Jean will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Springboro First United Methodist Church, 60 East North Street, Springboro, OH 45066. A funeral will occur Friday, October 20, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Springboro First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.
