Gary Eugene Oney

Oney, Gary Eugene, age 80, of Franklin passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020, at the V.A. Medical Center in Dayton. He was born in West Liberty, KY on October 31, 1940, the son of the late Robert B. and Alta Marilyn (Salyer) Oney. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Evelyn in January of 2020. Gary is survived by his two sons, Michael Oney, of Eaton and James Oney, of Franklin; a sister, Marietta Siler, of Middletown; a brother, Doug Oney, of Middletown; three grandchildren, Brad Oney, of SC, Brittany (Matt) Jones, of West Alexandria and Jimmy (Christin) Oney, Jr., of SC; seven great- grandchildren, Landon, Roslynn, Zoey, Brexton, and Kyleigh Oney, Leila Jones and Anthony Jones. He was retired from Ferco Tech after 25 years of service, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Western Hills Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020, at the Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 East Second Street, Franklin with Pastor Joe Maggard officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Woodhill Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2020.
