Anna Mae Whitaker

Anna Mae "Ma" Whitaker, age 80, of Franklin, Ohio passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at Kettering Hospital. Anna was born January 14, 1942 in Letcher County, KY to the late James "Jimmie" and Mertie (Caudill) Hampton.

"Ma" worked in the deli at Marsh's Supermarket in Franklin for many years and retired in 2007. She enjoyed her family and the special gatherings at Christmas time.

"Ma" was preceded in death by her brother, Bryce Hampton. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Claude Whitaker; her children, Linda (Rick) Sorrell, Mary Jane (Fred) Cornett, Claudette Rudd; her grandchildren, Jaina Dearth, Clay Sorrell, Justin Crouse, Miranda Rhoads, Kristi Sorrell, Logan Butler, Hannah Miller, Dylan Myers; her 16 great grandchildren; her brother, Bobby Hampton; her sisters, Zella Caudill and Lettie Long.

A visitation for "Ma" will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Anderson Funeral Home, 1357 E. 2nd St., Franklin, Ohio 45005. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 1:30 PM at Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin, OH 45005.
