Ronald George Cubbin “Cubby” passed away peacefully at his home in Framingham, MA at the age of 67 on November 22, 2020. Ron had a selfless nature that was adored and cherished by so many loving friends. He was always putting the care of others before his own and could be depended on to help out friends who needed him.
Ron was born on December 11, 1952, in Newton, MA. Ron lived his life according to one simple philosophy – Carpe Diem! Ron rarely spent much time worrying about the future; instead, he devoted himself to enjoying the simple moments in life with his family and childhood friends. As a young man, Ron had many adventures traveling around playing the keyboard with his band. In his later years, Ron loved making people laugh by sharing interesting stories from his traveling days.
Ron spent most of his life working as a carpenter and contractor. You could usually catch Ron picking up supplies in his El Camino at Sudbury Lumber for one of his many projects. Ron enjoyed spending his free time volunteering with his stepson Stephen’s Boy Scout troop on their many camping trips and teaching Stephen the art of carpentry as they worked on remodeling their house together.
Ron loved living close to the ocean. His greatest joys in life included relaxing at the beach in York Beach, Maine, and sailing up and down the east coast. Ron’s trips up to Maine were never complete without stopping for a hotdog with the famous homemade relish from Flo’s hotdog stand.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Jeanne Cubbin, sister Sandra Wilson, and his beloved dog Rory. He leaves behind his stepson Stephen Flaherty, Stephen’s wife Melissa Carroll, nephews Christopher James Wilson and John Scott Wilson, and many cherished friends whom Ron considered his family.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Ron’s friends and caretakers, James and Heather Murray.
A private celebration of life event to honor the legacy of Ronald Cubbin will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ronald Cubbin’s name can be made to Buddy Dog Humane Society, Inc., 151 Boston Post Rd, Sudbury MA, www.buddydoghs.com/donate, (978) 443-6990.
