Margaret R. Almeida

She was preceded in death by her parents Pablo and Romanita Sanchez, by her husband Raymond, on February 20, 2011; by her siblings, Florence, Julio and Paul Sanchez and Celia Apricio. Margie is survived by her sisters Mary Garcilaso, Pauline Sanchez, Juanita Romero, Josie Castaneda and brothers Robert, John and Richard Sanchez. She is also survived by grandchildren, Cassie, Adam, Josua, Kylie and Austin as well as her God son Julian Castaneda.

As a native of Colorado Springs, Margie was born on May 31, 1933 and grew up in a house that used to sit at the intersection of Cascade and Fillmore. She attended St. May’s high School in 1950 and married Raymond on Oct 6, 1950.

Margie became a very successful self-taught accountant for several local businesses. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Security, CO and a devoted member of Catholic Daughters of America.

Margie always put family first and left a positive imprint on everyone she met, but her greatest love was for her five grandchildren. It was her positive attitude that beat down cancer is 1989 and MRSA in 2009. Though her last 4 years were in pain, she fought to stay with us.

Now free of pain, she smiles on us and waits to bring us home. Her departure leaves a huge void. Her love leaves many happy memories.

A visitation and Rosary will be held on Thursday August 9th at 7:00 p.m. with visitation following at St. Dominic Catholic Church. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday August 10th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Dominic Catholic Church 5354 S. Hwy 85/87 Fountain, CO
