Jim was born on January 15, 1952 in Zanesville, Ohio and has resided in Colorado Springs since 1990.
Jim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Trudy Bluemer; 14 children; Jennifer(Micky) Pitre; Jaymi (Sam) Salazar; Tabitha (Ron) Sucgang; Julie (James) Hernandez; Troy (Tamara); Jodi (John) Vandike; Todd; Jacob (Sabrina); Tyler (Darlene); Joshua (Nikki); Trisha (Darrel); Jarom (Natalie); Jillian; and Tekota (Sophia). 47 grandchildren: Justin (Melanie), Jonah Pitre; Lauren (Sean) Marshall, Brandon, Madeline (Chris) Garside, Noah, Samuel Salazar; Kyleigh (Noah) Bailey, Mykaila, Kyahnna, Derequito, Devon, Dason Sucgang; Ammon, Emily, Jared, Megan, Jacob Hernandez; Zoe, Rory, Kalli Ruby; Kadin, Connor, Brylie, Sadie Vandike; Phoebe, Evelyn, Leroy, Josef Ruby; Logan, Kaelyn, Simon, Owen, Bryson, Warren, Aspen, Ryan Ruby; Zipporah Ruby; Malachi, Isaiah, Amara Ruby; Johanna, Alvin, William, Gideon Ruby; Arabella, Gabriel Ruby. 4 great-grandchildren: Jules Pitre; Easton, Jackson, Emmalyn Marshall
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Hilda Lucas Ruby; daughter, Treasure Ruby; and granddaughter, Anjalie Hernandez.
Jim was a blessing to many; a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His family meant everything to him and he greatly enjoyed all special times spent together.
Jim was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was a US Air Force veteran and worked as a Department of Defense Civilian for over 30 years. He dedicated many years leading young men in the Boy Scout program. When not spending time with family, Jim’s hobbies included spending time tinkering with mechanics, collecting and organizing an array of treasures, and watching The Andy Griffith Show.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at 325 Putnam Drive on Monday, July 26 beginning at 10:00 am. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Burial will be at a later date.
Jim, dad, and grandpa was a selfless and generous man who strived to serve everyone he met. He was simply an awesome person and he will be missed by many. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched.
