Guadalupe, known to most as Lou or Lupe, was born in Uvalde, TX on March 10, 1940. Although born in TX he spent many years living in Genoa, OH. For years he celebrated his birthday on March 8 until a new birth certificate needed to be ordered for one reason or another, and he learned different. Like so many things in Lou's life, we are sure there is a good story behind this.
He married Josephine Estrada on May 24,1988. He and Josephine were together for 44 years. They lived in the same home in Widefield all of their years together. Josephine preceded Lou in death on February 15, 2023.
He is survived by his 3 stepchildren, John Forgash (Roseanne), Jim Forgash and Cindy Beier (Steve), as well as grandchildren Dillon Forgash, Erin Beier, Jackson Beier and great granddaughter Ava Forgash.
Lou joined the Army in 1960 and spent 20 years serving his country. He was stationed in Korea and Germany as well as several tours in Vietnam. Upon his retirement from Ft Carson Army Base in 1980 he received an Army Commendation metal. After leaving the military he found another career at a company name Current. He worked there as a maintenance and controls technician and retired fully from there after another 20 dedicated years of service.
Lou enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and making beer and wine on the back porch with his son-in-law. He didn't play the banjo but he recently began playing bingo. He was always willing to help anyone in the neighborhood or family friends with anything that needed to be done. His had a big heart and was loved by all that met him.
