Gregory Don Garcia

Gregory Don Garcia aka Greg passed away on February 3, 2021. He was born on May 23,1965 in a hospital in Fort Collins, Colorado. He was adopted at the age of 3 months by his parents, Celestino William & Helga Isolde Garcia who also precede him in death. Greg grew up and attended schools in Widefield and graduated from Widefield H.S. in May of 1983. After high school Greg moved to a few different locations to include: Las Vegas, Nevada & later Tucson, Arizona. He then moved back to Colorado. He worked as a security guard at various locations. He tried his hand at insurance for a time & worked out of his home as a small engine mechanic. In 2015 Greg began his career as a Trucker. He spent 5 years traveling from one end of the United States to the other. He enjoyed seeing sights such as the Great Lakes in the Northern part of the states and shared beautiful photos of The Great Salt lake in Utah. He spent some time in Wisconsin and shared the wonderful cheese he would purchase. He talked about the beauty of the Appalachian mountains. He enjoyed the state of Washington and would often share photos. He traveled through California often & stopped to visit family in Tucson. He loved Louisiana and spoke of the hospitality of the southern states. Greg loved motorcycles and his dream was to purchase a Harley of his own one day. He was also a really good drummer and loved his music. Greg had a very kind heart and will be missed by his family and friends.

Greg is survived by his sister Rhonda Lynn Lewis, his nephew Joshua Marc Lewis & great nephew Francisco Julius Lewis-Searuggs of Colorado Springs. Greg was a member of a large family. He was preceded in death by some special Aunts & Uncles: Sylvia Aragon of San Antonio, Delia Garcia of Thornton, Colorado, Mary Vigil of Tucson, Don Garcia & Sigrid Hemmerle from Germany. He is survived by his Uncle Charles Garcia of Thornton, Colorado & his Aunt Bertha Garcia of Broomfield, Colorado along with his Uncle Werner Dietmar Gierth (Janice) of Connecticut. Greg also had many first & second cousins: They include Bob (Judy), Jimmy (Maria), Ben, Donnie, Billy Vigil, Marilyn (Fernando) Sanchez, Pauline (Joe) Gil, Patty Arendt, Michael (Berdie), Andy Bennett; Anthony (Linda) Garcia, Jonathan Marshall Garcia; Carla (Jorge), Carlos (Theresa), and Christopher Garcia; Becky Pacheco, Marisa (Jose) Gomez, Denise (Tony) Hernandez, Vincent Zamora, Petra (Marcus) Hemmerle, Susan Hemmerle of Germany & Derrick Gierth. He was also preceded in death by cousin, Nancy Juarez.

Funeral services will not be held at this time but will be saved for a later date. Greg’s remains will be cremated.

Note: His friend Arch Brooks will be taking a portion of Greg’s ashes and spreading them over the Appalachian mountains to honor his best friend.
