Zelda Ruth Hedgpeth Osmun (87 years old) from Burleson, Texas passed away and went into the arms of the Lord on October 7, 2024. She was born in Hamilton, Texas on January 24, 1937. Zelda graduated from Paschal High School in Fort Worth in 1955. She worked in retail until she met Lester Osmun on a blind date and married him on February 21, 1958 in College Avenue Baptist Church, Fort Worth. Zelda and Les were married for 62 years. In that time, they had a daughter, Rebecca Kay, born December 31, 1958 in Fort Worth. While in the Air Force, Les was stationed in Japan, where they welcomed another daughter, Sheri Lynn, born June 15, 1962 and a son, Jeffrey Glenn, born October 13, 1963.
Zelda is preceded in death by her father Lloyd Hedgpeth, her mother Equilla Hedgpeth, her son Jeffrey Osmun, and her husband Lester Osmun.
Zelda is survived by her brother Glenn Hedgpeth and wife Carol, daughters Rebecca Osmun Leonard and husband Jim, Sheri Yendrek and husband Ed, sister-in-law Linda Baker, grandchildren Traci Justice and husband Aric, Danielle Henley and husband Hagan, Matthew Clouse, Brady Osmun, Seth Osmun and wife Stephanie, and Jeffrey Wahl.
Les and Zelda were blessed with six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
A visitation for Zelda will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76134.
A funeral service will occur Friday, October 11, 2024 at 2:00 PM, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76134. A committal service will occur Friday, October 11, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Laurel Land Memorial Park, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
Serving as pallbearers are Matthew Clouse, Brady Osmun, Seth Osmun, Jeffrey Wahl, Aric Justice, Preston Jean, Tucker Jean and Hagan Henley.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Zelda's memory may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.
