Windolyn Denise Mosely was the first of three children born to Dr. Phelgar D. Mosely and Mrs. Nannett Alease Mosely. She was born on March 14, 1959 in Houston, Texas while her father was completing his Dental internship at Prairie View College and mother was nursing at Lockwood Hospital in Houston. Soon thereafter, the family relocated to Amarillo, Texas where Dr. Mosely opened his dental practice.
Windolyn found Christ at an early age and was baptized with her sister and brother at Jenkins Chapel Baptist Church in Amarillo. She is now a faithful member of Friendship West Baptist Church although over the past few years she could only attend online.
Windolyn started her educational journey at Hilltop Elementary School in Amarillo and was there until fifth grade. In 1972 the family moved to a new home in Amarillo. In the fall of that year Win became one of the first three children to integrate schools in Amarillo when she was enrolled at Ridgecrest Elementary. The other two children were her siblings. She went on to attend Bonham Jr. High School and Amarillo High School where she played Volleyball and 6 on 6 basketball. She loved Journalism and was an active worker on the school newspaper. Win graduated high school in 1977 and was accepted into Baylor University. While at Baylor she studied biology and found a group of friends who remain her sisters to this day. After she graduated from Baylor she pursued her masters degree in Biomedical Engineering at The University of Texas in Austin.
Windolyn’s varied interests led her to many different vocations. She was a research scientist at Livermore Laboratories in Livermore California. She found passion in helping families working for Child Protective Services in Dallas. She became a Research Project Manager in New Jersey with a team of 25 Clinical Research Associates. She founded Winning Solutions, a scientific professional temporary agency. She also worked in surgical research at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She had a true passion for the political process. She led voter registration drives and became a poll marshal of her voter’s district. She also acquired and managed multiple real estate properties.
Windolyn absolutely adored her nieces and nephews. One of her fondest memories was being in the delivery room when her first nephew Dashiell was born. She beamed with pride at everything he did. She took the role of “Aunt Win” very seriously. She was always looking for things to teach and prepare her little people. She bought books and games to teach them money management skills and business acumen. She loved to play games with them and attend anything they were a part of.
Windolyn left the land of the dying and entered the land of the living on August 16, 2024. She was preceded in death by her father Dr. Phelgar D. Mosely. She leaves to celebrate her reward, her mother Nannett Alease Mosely, her sister Letha Vada Cates, her brother Phelgar D. Mosely
