Billy lived in Fort Worth during his early years and later moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked for the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company. Unfortunately, he contracted leukemia early mid-life and overcame it twice with the help of a bone marrow transplant from his brother Rodney Ford. Such was the strong bond between brothers.
Billy loved watching anything sports-related, especially the Texas Rangers. He shared his enthusiasm for old cars, motorcycles, and classic rock music with his brothers. He enjoyed living a quiet life on a few acres in Scurry, Texas, visiting with his neighbors.
Billy was preceded in death by his mother, Faye Marie Sanders Bargainer; father, Howard Odell Ford; brother, Frank Rodney Amos Ford; grandmother, Jewel Sanders Baker; and aunt, Frances McAfee. And he is survived by his stepfather, Vernon Lee Bargainer; brother, Howard Lee Blanton and wife Eve; Michael Odell Blanton and wife Patricia; sister, Dana Marie Walter and husband E.W.; and brother, Thomas Eugene (Gene) Ford, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Billy always had a quiet, gentle nature and stayed strong until his last breath.
Go rest high on that mountain, Billy; your work on earth is done.
