William Alexander Brown

Bill loved the Lord and lived his life as a man of faith. He was truly a man who endeavored to walk the narrow path. He was a loving husband of 69 years, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and a friend to many. His love for his family was evident in the joy he expressed every time he saw them. He was a giving man and would help anyone who helped themselves. He and JoAnn supported several missionaries for many years. He was a man of few words and believed a man’s word and his handshake was his bond.

Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. He retired from General Dynamics after a 37 year career, but began the next phase of his work life by accepting various positions with Vought Aerospace, Loral Aerospace, and Convair Aerospace. He also held several part-time jobs including running a vending machine and arcade game route, selling trailers and working in the Brookshire’s fuel kiosk. He built three of his own homes; two in Alvarado and one on Midlothian. He also built or helped family and friends build and remodel several homes throughout the years. He enjoyed woodcraft as a hobby. He and JoAnn traveled to many places throughout the United States and lived life on their terms. Bill and JoAnn were founding members of the Midlothian Bible Church and thoroughly enjoyed attending services there over the years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Brown; mother, Linnie Brown; and sisters, Dorothy Miller and Delores Price.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn Brown; sister, Dolly Travis; son, Larry Brown; and daughters, Lynda Biggs (Curtis Biggs) and Lisa Reeves (Layne Reeves); grandchildren, Beau Brown (Jessica Brown), Alex Reeves (Hannah Davis), Christina Biggs, Jenifer Humphries (Robert Humphries), Andrea Biggs, Ashley Waggoner (Robert Waggoner), Monica Hartman and Andrea Schrick (Jason Schrick); great-grandchildren, Seph Whitson, Anthony Brown, Ray Whitson, Kel Boatwright, Jayden Schrick, Carlin Waggoner, Jess Whitson, Dylan Humphries, Aubrey Brown, Tabitha Waggoner, Rylee Humphries, Peyton Humphries, Allison Schrick, Sydney Humphries, Elizabeth Whitson, and Ember Boatwright.
