On December 6, 1937, in Paris, Texas, Clem and Hattie Mae welcomed their first born baby girl into their lives. They named her Wanda Evon. She was raised in Lamar County and attended school in that area, and graduated form B J. Graves High School. Wanda received her education in the public schools of Lamar County, Texas. She attended Galilee Marina Community College in San Francisco, California and received her certification as a Residential Service Specialist. She accepted Christ at an early age in Lamar County, Texas. Wanda later met James T. Williams and became married in August 21, 1968. They were in this union for 41 years until his death in 2009. After her husband's retirement from the U>S> Air Force they made their home in San Francisco and Oakland, California, where they became business owners. They ran a very successful boarding home business. Wanda returned to Texas approximately 14 years ago to be with her family. Wanda enjoyed being with her family and loved being with the friends she made at Village Creek Nursing Home especially her roommate Susan. Wanda looked forward to going to church and various places with her niece, Sharon. Early Tuesday morning, January 19, 2021, Wanda answered the Master's call and peacefully transitioned from time to eternity. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Clem Ellis; mother, Mrs. Hattie Mae Turner Ellis Garland; her sister, Brenda J. Ellis Taylor and brothers, Charles and James Ellis. Those left to cherish her memories are sisters, Sarah Bee, Deloris Spencer, Laura Ringer, Glenda Mitchell, Ruby Overton (Robert) and Mary Jo Garland (Greg); brothers, Earl Ellis (Beverly), Robert Garland and Arvin Ellis; a special niece, Sharon Simon Adkins (David) and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.
