Virginia Henke Koenig, age 83 of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away April 6, 2022. She was born in San Antonio, Texas, raised on a farm and ranch south of San Antonio, graduated from Karnes City High School, attended Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas. She was employed by Highland Park State Bank, San Antonio, followed by employment with Lone Star Gas Pipeline Co and eventually a District Manager with Stanley Home Products, relocating to Fort Worth in 1975 with the family. She was also employed as executive secretary/receptionist to Marvin Waltz Real Estate Broker and executive secretary at General Dynamics Fort Worth on the Navy A-12 Program.
She loved her family dearly and devoted her last years to raising two grandsons in Fort Worth, Texas.
She is survived by her children, Cheryl Koenig and David Koenig, both of Fort Worth, TX and James Koenig (Cindy) of Kathleen, GA, along with grandchildren, Zachary Koenig (Jaylin) of Bedford, TX and Rebekah Koenig, Tucker Koenig, Hunter Koenig, Trevor Koenig, Timothy Koenig, Elizabeth Koenig, Amelia Koenig, Heidi Koenig, and Daniel Koenig of Kathleen, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix B. Henke and Charlotte Schroeder Henke, her husband of 30 years (divorced), Daniel D. Koenig and brother, F. Shelby Henke.
A visitation at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park will be held at 2pm on Saturday, April 16, 2022, with a service following at 3pm on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Laurel Land Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
