NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Teresia Gail Crenshaw Beard, 59, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, Aug. 6, 2010, following a near decade-long battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her four children and loving mother.

She was born Jan. 2, 1951, in Amarillo to Joe and Betty Crenshaw. The oldest of 10 children, she loved her large family and cared for her younger siblings. She obtained her degree in occupational therapy from Texas Woman's University before marrying Gary Devon Beard on June 22, 1973. She was a devoted wife for almost 32 years until his death in 2005. The true loves of her life, however, were her four children, six grandchildren and one foster grandchild.
She had worked at Fort Worth Christian School since 1992, where she served originally as a director of the after-school childcare program before becoming an office aide and eventually a computer technician for the past several years. She was loved by everyone on the campus and could be seen routinely riding her golf cart to the various buildings to serve all of the teachers and staff.
She loved her church family at Paradise Church of Christ where she served as a minister's wife from 1985-2005 and at Legacy Church of Christ, where she was a member for the past five years. Teresia had a passion for life, and an unquestionable love of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Beard; father, Joe Crenshaw; sister, Jean Crenshaw; and nephew, Tye Brazell.
