Mrs. Ruby Steele

Ruby Elaine Steele was born Ruby Elaine Johnson October 26, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas to Thelma Hill and Fred Johnson. After her mom was called home Marie Picken helped raise and care for her and her brothers.

Ruby accepted Christ at a early age and was baptized at Thompson Chapel United Methodist Church, which later became Harvest United Methodist Church until her health failed.

She received her formal education from Fort Worth Public School. After graduating from Kirkpatrick High School she worked several job before retiring from Fort Worth Daycare Association in 2003.

On September 9, 2022, she departed her earthly home to her heavenly home. She was reunited with her mother, Thelma Hill, her father, Fred Johnson, her beloved husband, Jimmie Lewis Steele, her brother, Clarence Ross, Albert Given, Thomas Dwight Mason, and her grandson, Johnny Maurice Williams Jr.

Her lasting beautiful memories will be forever cherished by her children. Daughters : Kim N. Atwood (Thomas) Fort Worth,TX., Deneen N. Johnson (Ricky) Lancaster, TX., Ebony N. Steele, Saginaw, TX. Foster Sisters: Mary A. Kennedy, Dallas, Texas, Gail Crawford, Charlotte, NC., and Venessa Battle, Lawrenceville, GA., Foster Brother, Kenneth Battle, Saginaw, TX. Foster Mom: Marie Picken, Fort Worth, TX. God- Daughter, Janice Hall, North Richland Hill, TX, Special Cousin: Betty Joe Steel, Fort Worth, TX. and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
