'Pat' was a graduate of Longview High School, class of '64. He graduated from Texas Tech University in '68 with a BS in math and physics.
Pat was a long time resident of Duck Creek in Richardson, TX. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Richardson where he was a member of the adult chancel choir. He was an original founding member for local social group, "The KEE Club" and also loved attending a local monthly wine tasting dinner. Pat was an avid music listener, and loved to sing and dance, even into his elder years.
One of Pat's greatest passion's was sports of all types. He was a great slow-pitch softball pitcher, having won an industry league National Championship in '82-'83. Pat was an avid golfer and loved playing local course Sherrel Park. He loved attending the Bryon Nelson and the Colonial golf tournaments. He was an avid fan of local high school and college sports.
One of his greatest achievements was earning the title of "Life Master in Duplicate Bridge" from the American Contract Bridge League at the age of 30! He enjoyed games of all types and was an expert at Chess, Backgammon, darts, and of course card games.
Pat had a long career spanning many decades in the oil and gas industry. He spent many years at Geophysical Service Inc., a subsidiary of Texas Instruments, and at ARCO. In his later years, Pat earned his teaching certificate and became a Algebra substitute for local secondary schools. He always had a passion for teaching and coaching. Pat strived to make everyone around him better, while always throwing in a few jokes to get a good laugh out of you. There are few men that are the quality of a Pat McCamy.
Preceded in death by his parents, William and Bernice McCamy. Brother, Technical Sergeant William Rex McCamy JR. Former spouse, Laura Elizabeth Melvin.
Survived by son, Andrew McCamy and his wife Amanda McCamy. Granddaughters, Patton Lea and Kenna Faye, and grandson, Kyland Clell. Sister-in-law Diana McCamy, and nephew Brian McCamy. First wife, Genie McCamy Dillon. Numerous cousins and extended family.
