It is with great sadness that the family of Robert Sidney Heald, 69, passed away peacefully at his home on Sun. February 18, 2018 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. Bob was born on Dec. 18, 1948 at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas. He spent most of his childhood years in Scotch Plains, NJ. He graduated from Scotch Plains Fanwood HS, Scotch Plains, NJ in 1967 and continued his college education at Howard Payne University in Brownwood, TX. Upon graduating college in 1971, he married his college sweetheart, Nelda Guevara. They moved back to NJ where Bob had a successful career with Gumdrop Book Company as a book salesman, (Book Jobber). Bob welcomed his only child, his son, Adam Christopher on June 17, 1982 where he raised him in Ramsey, NJ. Bob found much joy in watching Adam excel in school, sports, and a career. He never missed one of Adam’s wrestling or football games. He said, “I would never trade any of those Kodak moments of Adam.” Bob retired in 2012 to Ft, TX so that he could be close to his beloved son.
He is survived by his son, Adam Christopher Heald of Ft. Worth TX; brother, Richard H. Heald of Toms River, NJ; sister, Tracy Heald Burns & brother in law, Rick A. Burns of Lavon TX. Along with several nephews and nieces.
He is predeceased by his father, Robert Leroy Heald and mother, Genevieve Ginger Mueller Heald. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 12:30pm, on Sat. Mar. 3, 2018 at the Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Rd, FT Worth, TX.
