Philip Joseph Guerieri, 89, of Fort Worth, Texas, passed away on December 29, 2024. Born on August 8, 1935, in Plainfield, New Jersey, Philip moved at the age of 13 with his family to Cleveland, Mississippi, where his father farmed cotton. After enlisting in the Army, he served for nine years in Korea and Germany before settling in Texas.
On April 3, 1974, Philip married his beloved wife, Judith (Judy) Ann Carte, in Fort Worth, Texas. They shared 32 years of marriage until Judy's passing in 2006. Philip retired as an Allstate insurance agent after 32 years but was best known for his playful spirit and sense of humor.
A proud family man, Philip’s love for life was matched by his love for the Dallas Cowboys, rigatoni, and Cadillacs. He had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, often greeting visitors with his signature “Merry Christmas!” no matter the time of year.
Philip was preceded in death by his wife, Judy; his parents; six sisters; three brothers; two sons; and one grandson. He is survived by five children: daughters Rene’, Vicki (Dirk) Dodson, Connie (Jon) Boring, Anna (Elvin) Clayton; and sons Robert (Angelique) Carte of Keller and Jim (Dana) Carte of St. Martinville, LA. He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, as well as his dog, Bo, and his grand-dog, Maverick.
Philip’s legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will live on through his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is Philip’s charity of choice -
