

Peggy was born to James and Lucy Ola Brantly on October 7, 1931 in Newport, Texas. She graduated from Jacksboro High and attended college at North Texas University where she obtained a Bachelor of Education. She later graduated from Texas Christian University with her Library of Science degree and Masters of Education, emphasis in Administration. On November 27, 1952, Peggy married the love of her life, John Thomas Cleveland and together, they raised their two daughters, Sheila and Monica.
During her career in Education, Peggy worked as a fourth grade teacher, a school librarian, and as an Administrative Elementary Supervisor over principals of E. Ray, Souder, Bishop and Hommel Elementary Schools in as an Everman ISD Administration. She was a valued member of the Texas State Teachers Association and had an absolute passion for education and her family.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 67 years, John T Cleveland; her daughter, Sheila Lynn Turner; her grandchildren, Monique and Michael Brasher, Grant and Ashley Turner, Tiffany Ward, Matthew and Sara Turner, Jillian and Adam Harrison, and Blake and Hannah Turner; her great grandchildren, Liam, Mackenzie, Connor, and Riley Brasher, and Gideon Thomas and Lucas Glen Turner. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends.
A visitation will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday, August 28, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. with a service to follow. A committal service will be held at Laurel Land Memorial Park on Friday, August 28, 2020 at 3:00 p.m.
