Paul J. Nagy, 86, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2021, at Arlington Memorial Hospital. He was born to Paul Nagy and Francis Rozalia Woznicki in Hempstead, New York on February 26, 1935. Paul worked as Saxophonist in New York City in his teens. His father always accompanied him to 'gigs' and worked at the coat check while his son played. Paul served his country in the Airforce (1953-1957) as an A1C radio operator and is a proud Korean War Veteran. Paul was honored with the Air Force National Defense Service Medal & Air Force Good Conduct Medal. In 1957 Paul married Shirley Ann Chessher, mother to Lynn, Paul & Laura. Paul worked for a short time as a realtor, Dale Carnegie Teacher, and CPA. In his first retirement in 1984, Paul went into business with his son, Paul Z., and business partner in Grand Prairie School of Music served Grand Prairie for many years. After Paul married Mary Jean in 1986, Paul went back to work as a Contract Computer Programmer for many years as he gained four more children, ages 5 -15. Paul attempted retirement for the second time in 2005 but found he enjoyed being a tax advisor so he began working with H&R Block in 2006, as he was passionate about helping all those he could with his knowledge of business and money management. After his official retirement in 2015, Paul enjoyed his family but mostly his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Paul was a member of Good Shepperd Methodist Church in Arlington, Texas. Last year Paul celebrated his 85th birthday with a big celebration surrounded by family and dear friends. We are thankful that we were allowed to celebrate him, his life, and his family before his passing a year later. Paul, Husband, Dad, Pop will be greatly missed but forever loved and remembered.
Paul is survived by his wife Mary Jean Nagy. They lived together in Arlington, Texas (28 years), Ft. Worth, Texas (4 years), and Trophy Club, Texas (3+ years). Together they shared a blended family of 6 children Lynn Wright (John Wright), Paul Z. Nagy (Lisa Nagy), Jennifer McClure, Melissa Glass (Anthony Glass), Timothy Frazier, Christopher Frazier (Aimee Frazier). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren who lovingly refer to him as ‘Granddad’ or ‘Pop’ Hunter Wright (Jennifer Wright), Saxon Rodriguez (Angel Rodriguez), Laura E. Nagy, Riley McClure, Connor McClure, Landry McClure, Nathan Fordham, Todd Frazier, Breanna Frazier, Cleary Frazier, Ruby Frazier, Miriam Frazier & Montgomery Frazier & great-grandchild Waits Rodriguez. Paul is preceded in death by his parents Paul Nagy (1911-1994) and Francis R Woznicki Nagy (1912-1996), sister Suzanne Frances Lennon (1938-1983), first wife Shirley Ann Chessher, (1936-1983), and daughter Laura Nagy (1969).
