Ms. Michelle Franklin

Michelle Elaine Franklin was born on April 23, 1980, in Fort Worth Texas. She was the daughter of Paul Franklin and the late Sharon Franklin. Michelle developed a relationship with Christ at an early age and united with the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington Texas and was a member of the youth choir.

Michelle was educated in the Fort Worth Independent School District and was a 1998 graduate of Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School in the Historic Stop Six Community. While enrolled at Dunbar she was a member of the Orchestra, Student Council and was a budding athlete until a Lupus diagnosis affected her physical abilities. Following graduation, she received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Texas Women’s University and her master’s degree in professional counselling from Texas State University.

While away in college, she led and conducted bible study groups and later in life participated as a LifeGroup social media leader. Michelle volunteered with several charitable organizations including Hope Hospice and Habitat for Humanity. She also enjoyed journaling and reading in her free time. Her natural cheerful personality and strong desire to help people led to a career in social services. She became a Licensed Professional Counselor and currently worked as an admissions counselor for Southern New Hampshire University.

For much of her life, Michelle confronted one health challenge after another. Throughout the years Michelle refused to complain and inspired all who came into her presence with her faith, her independent spirit, and her ‘can’t stop - won’t stop’ attitude, and now we take much comfort in knowing that she is healed.

Michelle Elaine Franklin is survived by parents Paul and Sherry Franklin; brother, Johnathan Paul Franklin (Tasha); uncles Ruben Whitney, Charles E. Franklin, Darwin Franklin; aunts Margaret Hinderman, Cheryl Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and cherished friends.
