Mike was born on September 16, 1958, in Fort Worth, Texas to John Henry and Mabel Robbins Ledford. He was reared in Arlington. Soon after graduation from Sam Houston High School, he began a 33 year career with Federal Express. Mike had a relentless entrepreneurial spirit. He enjoyed many years operating Bud’s Snoballs. He found time to manage a lawn care service.
Mike met Dan Jones and together they created Metroplex Hard Money in which he was involved at the time of his death.
Mike is survived by his wife and best friend, Sarah Bussey Ledford; his brother, Johnny Wayne Ledford and Sharen; his in-laws, Judith and Dr. Jimmie Bussey, Spring Bussey Holmes, Forrest Bussey, Aaron Bussey and Abby, Stephanie Bussey Gutierez and Chuck; Niece, Brandy Ledford Crow; Nephew, David Ledford; Godson, Fate Bussey; Cousins and innumerable friends.
Mike lived a Christian life and one of the last things he said was, “I want everyone to know Jesus”. He had a generous spirit and brought laughter and joy wherever he went. He was always for the underdog.
Mike was an avid reader and loved history. A favorite pastime was visiting old cemeteries. He was a proud Texan and American.
