Michael Thomas Edwards

Michael Thomas Edwards, a cherished husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend, peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 14, 2023, at his home in Burleson, Texas. Affectionately known as Mike, he was born on September 26, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas, to Charles and Tommie Edwards. He enjoyed a fulfilling and lengthy career as a long-haul truck driver, proudly representing brands like Colonial, Albertsons, Walmart, and Kroger. After retiring, he found purpose as a personal driver for a senior living facility known as The Broadway Plaza. His gentle nature, kind heart, wonderful sense of humor, and remarkable resilience endeared him to all he met.

Mike leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of his surviving family members, including his devoted wife of 52 years, Betty, who has always stood by his side, especially during the past few years of his declining health. He is also survived by his brother, Roger Edwards, and his wife, Susan, of Leesville, Texas, as well as his sister, Deborah Edwards Adams, of Sutherland Springs, Texas. Mike's sister-in-law, Jane Ann Edwards, of Fort Worth, TX, Janette Rochelle Jackson and husband Tommy of San Antonio, TX, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Eugene Edwards Sr., Tommie Keith Edwards, and his brother, Charles Eugene Edwards Jr.

The celebration of Mike's life will occur during a visitation on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Laurel Land Funeral Home - Chapel of Chimes, located at 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134. Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at the same location at 2:00 PM. The committal service will then take place at Burleson Memorial Cemetery, 500 Memorial Plaza, Burleson, TX 76028

Rest easy, dear Mike. Your presence, warm smile, and joyful disposition will be missed, but your memory will forever live in our hearts.
