Linda Kay Martin (nee Denham) passed away gently and swiftly on the morning of March 16, 2023 in the comfort of her home in Saginaw, Texas. She rejoins her husband of 50 years, Will Edgar Martin, who passed in 2019. She was 75 years old.
Linda was born on July 2, 1947 in Fort Worth, Texas to Roy and Georgia Denham. She married Will Edgar Martin in April of 1969 and they raised three sons together. Throughout her life, she was a devoted wife and mother.
Linda graduated with her Associates Degree in Nursing from Tarleton University in 1990 and was the first in her family to graduate from college. She would later complete both a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and Master’s Degree in Science. Shortly after graduating from Tarleton, Linda worked as a Registered Nurse at Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital for 32 years, starting as a bedside nurse and later become a nursing manager for the SRP6 Medical/Surgical Unit. A true nurse at heart, she dedicated her life, both inside and outside of work caring for others.
Throughout her life, Linda was a dedicated follower of Christ and applied His Word to every aspect of how she lived. She modeled self-sacrifice, unconditional love, and compassion to every person she knew. She was unafraid to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone at work and in her everyday life and proclaimed His salvation and the peace He brought to her with anyone willing to hear. As a result, her life was a ministry and a blessing to those around her.
She is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Gayle and Pat Currie; three sons and their wives, Ricky Martin, Robin and Andrea Martin, and Randy and Lindsey Martin; her grandson and his wife Tryston and Jo Ellen Martin; and great grandson Dietrich. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Services are to be held on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Laurel Land Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Visitation will be held from noon, followed by graveside service at 2 p.m.
