Jolita was born the youngest of five children to James Norman and Angela Monette Walling on December 4, 1929 near Whitney Texas. She learned to read at an early age and graduated high school at 16 years old, having been promoted over several grades. Jolita taught herself to play piano on a self made keyboard, playing piano at church on Sundays.
Jolita married her high school sweetheart, Bill Cooper in 1952 and remained married until his death in 1988. They are survived by their three children Beth, David, and Carol. They leave a legacy of four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.
Jolita was a full time homemaker while her children were young. She later worked as the office manager of a five physician medical clinic. She organized and managed the first years of the medicare insurance program for the clinic, helping others during their time of need.
Jolita loved to read, travel, and discuss politics. She enjoyed hosting and attending group gatherings with friends and family. She was a member of Christ Chapel Bible Church in Ft. Worth.
When asked advice for happiness she responded, “ Always keep a sense of humor and approach each day as an adventure”. “It’s not what happens to you, but rather how you respond”.
Our hearts will treasure her memories…until we meet again.
