Joy Kathleen Conger went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, February 15, 2016. Joy was born on November 10, 1941 to Guy and Mary Cheairs in Fort Worth. She graduated from Trimble Tech High School with the class of 1959. Joy welcomed a son, Larry, in 1969 and a daughter, Michelle in 1970. Yet, her family wasn’t complete until she married the love of her life, Lanny Conger in 1973. Joy was employed by Montgomery Ward’s, Toms Peanuts and retired from the Fort Worth Independent School District after over twenty years of service. After retiring Joy was delighted to be able to have free time to go to the movies with her girlfriends, Ms. Sheila and Ms. Edna. She spent much of her free time entertaining her grandchildren, whom she cared for deeply. On Tuesday’s she enjoyed going to the senior fellowship at the Newark Church of Christ where she was able to socialize, play games and enjoy the great food. Her family remembers her as a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Those who are left to cherish her memory include her son, Larry Chenault and wife Jennifer; daughter, Michelle Chenault; grandchildren, Gage Chenault, Ryan Chenault, Sydney Chenault; one great grandchild, Alyvia; sister, Penny; nieces, Tract, Shanna, Stormey; nephews, Troy, John, Michael; extended family and many dear friends.
