Jo Ann Moore

Her career started with the Federal Aviation Administration where she was an assistant for a flight instructor.

During this time, she got her Pilot's Certification and was able to fly a few times solo.

Then she went to work for the General Services Administration and was a Financial Officer for 37 years. After retiring from the Government, she started working for Texas Wesleyan University and was the Secretary for the Dean at the College of Business.

Her passion there was helping students find their way.

Many of the exchange students brought her gifts from their country and she loved it.

She attended church for many years at Sagamore Hill Baptist Church where she raised her children.

She was also a member at Shady Oaks Baptist Church. She especially loved animals and had pets throughout her whole life. Some of her hobbies were antique shopping (any kind of shopping); sewing & she never gave up on learning how to knit which proved to be a bit of a challenge as she was left handed. She used to always giggle about that. She was truly loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Family members who preceded her in Death:

Husband - Ronald "Ronnie" Moore - Jo Ann & Ronnie got married on January 12, 1962 after they both said, "let's just do it “and had 58 amazing years together.

Parents - Walter & Grace Butts

Sister - Glenda Zimmerman

Those left to cherish her memories include:

Children - Mindy, Marcy & Michael

Grandchildren - Hayley & Cameron

Niece - Lynnette - Nephews - Danny & Darrell

Great Nieces - Adriana, Emilee, Kayley & Maddie

Great Nephew - Wiley

Great Great Nephews - Rhett, Walker & Isaac

A visitation for Jo Ann will be held Friday, July 28, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, Tx 76134. A funeral service will occur Friday, July 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134. A committal service will occur Friday, July 28, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Laurel Land FH - Ft Worth, 7100 Crowley Rd, Fort Worth, TX 76134.
