Jean B. Walker

Jean was born on March 7th, 1936 in Marksville, Louisiana to Earl and Edna Barbin. She graduated High School in Zachary, Louisiana. She and Joe Walker resided in Burleson, Texas for over 40 years and owned a flooring store. The couple raised 9 children, 30 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

She was a dedicated member of the Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Burleson, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Walker; her mother and father, Edna and Earl Barbin; and siblings, Gerald Barbin and Troy Barbin.

Jean is survived by her children, Kim Doyle, Tonnee and James Johnson, Andrew Kennedy, Micah and Mona Kennedy, Jude and Penney Kennedy, Robin and Alfred Bagley, Kris Walker, Jena Walker, and Joe Walker; and sibling, Ellen Conger of Baker, Louisiana.

The family would like to thank Alpha Omega Hospice for their care and dedication to her in her final days.

Visitation will be held from 2pm to 6 pm Tuesday, April 12th, with social distancing protocol at Laurel Land Funeral Home.
