Janice King, 80, of Fort Worth, Texas passed away Thursday, June 29th after her battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born on October 1, 1936 in Phenix City, Alabama where she met her husband of 62 years, Winston King. In 1955 they moved to Fort Worth, Texas. She worked as a timekeeper at the Fort Worth State School for many years before retiring from Child Protective Services. She and Winston were members of Travis Avenue Baptist Church for 40 years during which time she was a member of the Adult Choir and the Praisesingers Senior Choir. After retirement she and Winston traveled all over the United States. Her journeys also included Jerusalem and England. Mrs. King was preceded in death by her father Henry Mann and mother Florence Newsome Mann. Survivors include her husband Winston King, son Robert King and his wife Susan, daughter Christa King, granddaughters Onica Johnson and her husband Derek, Casie King, and great-granddaughter Charlotte Marie Johnson.
