Janet was born October 26, 1947, in Fort Worth, TX. She graduated from Polytechnic High School in 1966. After graduating from Tarrant County College in 1984, she became a physical therapist assistant, and later studied studio art at Stephen F. Austin University. Throughout her life, she loved running, cycling, gardening, bird watching, as well as playing trumpet, guitar, and piano. Most importantly, Janet loved Jesus with all of her heart.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Lowell Gipson; and her parents, James L. Gipson and Virginia Hale (Gipson) Courtney.
Survivors include: sister, Angela Gipson Rimbach (husband, Eric); and her step-mother, Dannie Gipson.
