A Graveside Service for Jane will be held Friday, March 3, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Shannon Rose Hill Cemetery, 7301 East Lancaster Ave, Fort Worth, Texas 76112.
Jane was born in Pittsburgh to Verne and Jean Hamilton Wright on December 10, 1934. She went to school in Pittsburgh, all the way through college at the University of Pittsburgh where she received a degree in Elementary Education. Shortly after graduation she married her 1st husband, John Lynch in 1956 and headed to Texas as an Air Force wife. Jane was an Air Force wife for 20 years. She had 3 children, Jack, Laura, and Charlie. The family lived in numerous locations mostly on the east coast and Florida. Florida was always Jane’s favorite place! Jane and the kids eventually settled in Belleville Illinois in 1974.
She eventually married her 2nd husband Sam Ross during this time and they were married 10 years. While Jane worked many years as a teacher, she decided it was now time to follow her dream of becoming a Nurse. She attended McKendree University and earned her RN degree in 1977. She worked as a nurse until she retired in 1996. Upon retirement she moved to Arlington Texas and has been here ever since.
In retirement, she helped care for her Grandchildren Leo and Sarah, she volunteered many hours at her church and worked for the Benny Hinn ministry prayer Hotline. Jane was a loving Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Teacher, and Nurse. She loved a good walk in the park, a day at the beach, and any sightseeing trip (which always included multiple stops at McDonalds for fries and a chocolate milkshake). She was devoutly Christian, loved Music (and could play the piano), a great cook and homemaker back in the day, and never missed a Dessert!
Jane battled Alzheimer for over 10 years. She lost the battle on Wednesday, February 22, 2023. It was a peaceful surrender, surrounded by her family and her Caregivers.
Jane is preceded in death by her Grandchild, Charlie Michael Lynch.
Jane is survived by her three children, Jack (Donna), Laura (Duane), and Charlie (Trish) and eight Grandchildren and six Great Grandchildren.
The Family would like to thank Serenity Home Place for the Wonderful loving care Jane received!
